Sometimes a picture is about something you don’t see at the time, but this bridge photo touches on a few guideposts that are important to me in my life and work.

I took this photo when I was in Paris earlier this year, where I was so thrilled to connect with entrepreneur, advisor and author Jane Bertch, whose inspiring new book, The French Ingredient, comes out on Tuesday, April 9!

A few “bridges” that make up my approach:

  1. Be willing to cross from one side to the other, taking on new challenges and risks, with a careful eye on the factors that impact success.
  2. Focus on building new bridges between people, places and organizations, weaving together a team or system that didn’t exist before.
  3. Be the catalyst that bridges the big ideas with how they actually get accomplished.

What bridges are you building or crossing?
